MIZUNO JPX 900 FORGED IRONS

Overview It’s no secret that Mizuno has always had an immense amount of success with their line of irons and their players irons are frequently ranked amongst the best in their class throughout the world of golf. The Test To test the new Mizuno JPX 900 forged irons, we compared them to their pre- decessor, the JPX 850 forged irons, and both with a standard length Dynamic Gold S300 shaft. Both of these irons are very similar, the 900 series added minor improvements, but there were some noticeable differences. Here are the results from the JPX 900:

After reviewing the results and numbers we came up with, what stood out to us was the higher ball speed produced by the JPX 900 forged. Even with a slightly slower average swing speed, the JPX 900 forged produced 1 mph more ball speed, which led to about 3 more yards of distance. Both irons were very forgiving and had a tight dispersion for a player’s club, but the JPX 900 forged had more shots closer to the centerline, showing that pure strikes stay very true and are extremely accurate, which is important for Needless to say, the new JPX 900 forged series are seriously impressive. They are the perfect club for lower handicap players who want total control over their approach shots.
